The Sopoco Way
At Sopoco, we believe that installing solar panels is about far more than just fitting the equipment and saying goodbye. It’s about creating a system that’s perfectly tailored to your home, your energy needs and your lifestyle, while treating your property with the care and respect it deserves.
We take the time to design your system properly, install it with care, and make sure you’re completely confident in using it. Here’s what sets us apart from other solar installers in Sussex…
How we work...
- Face to face visit before you receive a quote
- A system tailored to your exact needs and goals
- Fully accredited and insured
- Post-installation support
What we do to make your solar installation a success
1. We’ll come and meet you face-to-face – before we even quote
Many solar companies provide quotes using online forms and satellite images – but we don’t work that way.
Before we send you a quote, we arrange to visit your property, so we can sit down with you, review your energy bills, discuss your goals, and explore the options that best suit your needs.
No generic proposals, no one-size-fits-all approach – we look at your energy usage, tariffs, standing charges, and cost per kilowatt, then design a system that offers the maximum return on your investment in solar.
2. Tailored systems for your specific needs
No two homes are quite the same, and neither are two solar installations. We provide multiple options designed around your specific circumstances:
-
- Lower energy usage? You might not need battery storage; we’ll design a more cost-effective system
- Higher consumption? We’ll maximise the number of panels your property can accommodate and help you understand when to use stored energy versus the grid
- Specific goals? Whether it’s minimising bills, maximising export income, or achieving energy independence, we design accordingly
We also advise on the best tariffs for your situation and how to get the most from your system throughout the year. It’s about finding the right solution for you, not selling you the biggest system possible.
3. Engineering precision to protect your home
Before we install a single panel, we do the homework that protects your home:
-
- Complete structural calculations ensure your roof can safely support the solar array. We don’t guess, we calculate the exact load distribution
- Detailed shade reports analyse how shadows from trees, chimneys, or neighbouring buildings will affect your system’s performance throughout the year. This ensures realistic expectations and optimal panel placement
- Bespoke mounting designs distribute the weight of your panels carefully across your roof structure. The hooks that secure the panels are deliberately staggered – never on the same rafters – to spread the load evenly and avoid straining any single timber
You’ll receive a copy of this mounting design in your handover pack, giving you complete transparency about what’s been installed and how.
4. Attention to detail that preserves your home’s appearance
Your home deserves meticulous craftsmanship, so we treat it as carefully as we’d treat our own. When you choose us, you’re choosing an installation that’s engineered correctly, installed beautifully, and backed by years of expertise.
-
- Cables are hidden wherever possible within the fabric of your building. When we can’t hide them, we route and pin them neatly so they’re unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing.
- Equipment is aligned and fitted with precision. Inverters, batteries, and isolators are positioned thoughtfully and mounted level. We take that extra bit of time to ensure everything looks as good as it performs
- Your home’s character matters to us. We understand that you’ve invested in your property, and we treat it accordingly
5. Fully accredited and insured for your peace of mind
We hold accreditations with MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme), RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code), and the government-backed Trustmark Scheme.
We’re fully insured, and all our work comes with a 2-year workmanship warranty plus full product warranties, giving you complete peace of mind.
6. The extras you won’t find elsewhere
While we’re up on the scaffolding installing your panels, we’ll clean your gutters. It’s not technically part of our job, but once we’re there, why wouldn’t we?
It’s these small gestures that reflect our approach: if we can do something helpful while we’re working on your home, we will.
7. Flexibility around your schedule
When we make the final connection to activate your system, we need to turn off your electricity briefly.
If our planned time doesn’t work for you – perhaps you’re working from home that day, or you have specific appliances that can’t be interrupted – we’ll reschedule. Your convenience matters to us.
8. We don’t just install and leave
On installation day, we set up your monitoring app and walk you through how your system works, what the app shows you, and how to get the most from your investment.
But we know that’s a lot of information to absorb in one day.
So, one week after installation, we check in with you. This isn’t a quick phone call; it’s a full in-person visit where we:
-
- Inspect the panels and check everything’s operating optimally
- Review system performance from the first week
- Sit down with you to answer every question you have
- Ensure you’re completely confident using and monitoring your system
And if questions come up later, we’re just a phone call away.
The SOPOCO way: Solar you can trust for decades
We understand that you’re not simply buying a set of solar panels; you’re investing in a reliable system to cut your bills, reduce your carbon footprint, and grant you energy security for decades to come.
